Pour ceux qui ne sont pas dans la mailing list du MMOC et ceux qui n'ont pas encore souscrit au club (et que j'invite à le faire !), voici les évènements minimarcos importants à venir et la plupart se situent au sud de l'angleterre proche de la côte donc pas de raison de manquer ça, notemment le kit car show(sud), brighton(sud) et les 50 ans de Marcos a cheltenham(sud) :

Brooklands Mini Day 29th March
No need to book for this one. Normal museum entry charges apply. Enter from the B374 and don't follow signs to the public car park.

Stoneleigh Kit car Show and the MMOC Annual General Meeting 3rd and 4th May

The world's largest and best kit car show, combined with our AGM. As usual, the venue is the Royal Showground, National Agricultural Centre, Stoneleigh, Warwickshire (just south of Coventry). We will be there on both the Sunday and the Monday of this bank holiday weekend, so please make an effort to come along and join us on the club stand, located near to our friends from the Midas Owners Club

London-Brighton Mini Run Sunday 17th May
As this year is the Mini's 50th Anniversary the event is likely to be heavily subscribed and entries have to be submitted very soon.

The entry fee is £30 per car which includes one T-shirt, rally plate, camping at Crystal Palace (if required) and admission to Madiera Drive.
Please send a cheque for £31 (to include postage) plus car registration, year and shirt size to Richard Porter 23 Switchback Road North,

Entries must be in by Friday 16th January at the latest.

Enfield Pageant of Motoring 23rd - 25th May
This is a major classic vehicle show located on the A10 Cambridge Road south of the M25. The theme this year is "Little Car - Big Heart"
to celebrate 50 years of the Mini. The Mini participation is organised by Mini Goldmine and they are keen to have as many different Mini kits
and variants as possible.

Admission is free, as is camping with a tent (there's a charge of £15 for the weekend for caravans) and entertainment will be laid on in the
evenings. The main days are Sunday and Monday.

If we have a club stand this must be booked by 13th March, otherwise individuals can register up to 1st May. Please contact Richard Porter

MARCOS 50th ANNIVERSARY EVENT

14th 15th 16th AUGUST 2009



The Marcos 50th Anniversary event will be held on 14th 15th and 16th August 2009, around Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. All Marcos enthusiasts are invited to attend. You are welcome to take part in any or all of the activities. Please note that pre-payment will be required for some of the events.



Friday 14th August
The weekend starts with a scenic drive, at your own pace, along a pre-arranged route visiting places of interest in the surrounding countryside. You will be free to join us at different times throughout the day, from 10.00am onwards. The total distance for the scenic drive is 65 miles, if you don’t get lost!



Full details will be provided, together with a range of contact telephone numbers. There is no specific cost for this event, just your own fuel costs, refreshments and the entry price for any attractions you may wish to visit along the way. This scenic drive is being organised by members of the MMOC but with participation open to all.



If you would be prepared to assist on the day to help ensure the smooth running of this event, please contact Roger and Melanie Garland (asap!) details shown below.



As an alternative to the scenic drive visiting various places of interest, you can enjoy the thrill of the race track, either in your own car or in a racing Marcos Mantis (possibly at £300+ per car). Details of this are still provisional and will be confirmed at a later date



Overnight on Friday/Saturday

Camping is not available at Prescott on Friday night, but there are camp sites (with good facilities) in the surrounding area – details from any of the following Tourist Information Offices:

Travelodge Cheltenham (a type of large motel) currently has availability at just £39 per room. Car parking is £5 extra at this Travelodge. Several MMOC members (including quite a few of the MMOC officials) have already booked in from Friday to Sunday – check it out at www.travelodge.co.uk



Other hotel and B+B accommodation is plentiful in and around Cheltenham, sourced either via the internet, or you may contact Tourist Information as detailed above.



Saturday 15th August

The grounds of Sudeley Castle, Winchcombe, near Cheltenham are the superb backdrop for Saturday’s event. Only a few miles from the Prescott Hill Climb circuit, it will be the venue for a special 50th Anniversary Concours d’Elegance. The Castle itself is not open to the public as it is a private residence, however, the gardens, exhibition hall, Pheasantry and the chapel are all well worth a visit. There is also a children’s playground and extensive grounds. The cafe will be open for refreshments. It’s only a short 10 minute walk into the village of Winchcombe, well worth a visit. There is one small speed ramp on the way into the grounds, otherwise the approach from the village to our dedicated grassed parking area should not cause anyone any problems.



The entrance price for the Marcos group is £5.20 per person, £3.20 for children. This is not a National Trust property. Entry is from 10.30am.



Overnight on Saturday

On the Saturday, camping is available at Prescott, adjacent to the Bugatti Trust Museum in the area known as The Orchard. The cost is £7.00 per tent. Basic toilets and limited shower facilities are available on site.



Plans are still being made for an anniversary meal on the Saturday evening, possibly at Prescott. More details later.



Sunday 16th August

Prescott Hill Climb, based just outside Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, is home to one of the world’s most prestigious motor racing venues. Set in 60 acres of glorious Cotswold countryside, the estate provides a beautiful setting for a range of classic car and bike weekends, as well as hosting major motor racing championships. This is the venue for the culmination of the Marcos 50th Anniversary weekend and your chance to meet up with a wide range of Marcos aficionados from across the decades, get close to the biggest gathering of the Marcos marque ever assembled and, of course, to “Drive the Hill”.



Club cars participating in the hill runs will be assembled in the Paddock on a pre-booked basis, with those turning up on the day, plus any visitors, being accommodated in the Orchard, adjacent to the Bugatti Trust Museum. The Trust Museum will be open to visitors. The cost of this is included in your booking fee for the event. Light refreshments will be available from 10.00am to 4.00pm at the coffee kiosk, with lunch available from 11.30am to 3.00pm in the Lodge within the grounds. There are also various pubs in neighbouring villages.



Those wishing to drive the hill should note that this is not a timed event and is your chance to enjoy your car on the hill run without competitive pressures; crash helmets are not compulsory. All drivers and passengers will be provided with a safety briefing on the day. The maximum enjoyment for everyone will be derived from us getting as many runs on the hill in the time allowed, free from mishaps and delays. For those who wish to enjoy the hill at a more sedate pace, a Cavalcade will be held after the lunch break. Full details will be provided prior to the event.



The venue is open from 9.00am to 5.00pm, with the hill runs from 10.00am to 1.00pm and from 2.00pm to 4.15pm.

mon ami Bernard et sa mk3 blanche sera là aussi, et toi aussi Romain je l'espère, 3 mk3 normandes ensemble sur la route, ca c'est de l'exploit !

sans moi , c'est 10 jours apres l'imm , ça fait trop d'écart pour faire les 2 et pas assez pour faire l'aller retour

ouai j ai reçu le mail aussi, bah pour moi c'est mort, ou du moins avec la Jem, elle sera pas prête du tout...du tout, énorme boulot à faire dessus...

A voir si je pourrais me dégager du temps pour aller au 50 ans avec autre chose, mais c'est con, j'aurai bien promener mamie, en plus avec 3 plastocs normand, ça aurait fait 4....!!

Ce rassemblement est le plus important jamais fait au niveau plastoc, dixit les anglais.

Oui sympa merci..; Bah pareil, pour la mini y faudra qu'elle soit fini (pour le moment, je roule en riley MKII stock...), mais ça devrais être ok, après c'est plus niveau planning business que ça va être serré...

Tiens d'ailleurs, ton pote avec la blanche (bande rouge centrale?), il passe devant chez moi trop souvent, la dernière fois, j'ai essayer de lui faire des grands signes pour qu'il s'arrête, il a du me prendre pour un ouf qui voulait lui tirer sa bagnole!! (alors qu en plus j'avais le plateau devant la maison avec un 1300 et les 2 sous châssis...

Je me suis trompé, cheltenham et coventry c'est dans le milieu du pays en fait,
j'ai confondu avec d'autres villes, je vais surement à brighton pour le mini run (en mini),
par contre ma marcos ne sera pas prète pour les evenements marcos,
j'ai vraiment pas le temps de bosser sur mon playdo ... priorité barraque/gonzesse !

le pproblème avec la marcos, c'est qu'on est tellement bas que l'on voit pas les gens qui nous font signe, sauf les bézo de moins de 5 ans

J'ai bien envie d'aller aux 50 ans Marcos et de faire le Prescott Hill Climb. A confirmer, si je n'ai pas de contrainte de planning.

patrick, on se contacte par mp, car je pense faire la même chose, j'adorerais comparer nos 2 autos sur côte... par ailleurs, tu te dois de prendre le bateau avec nous à dieppe et de rester à la maison pour la halte aux stands. A bon entendeur, bye bye !
